How It Works - the basic nuts and bolts

When they join, your affiliates can choose a username (ID), which will show in their links, like so:

http://www.yourdomain.com/?id=john

When someone visits an affiliate link, the script checks to see if there is a valid sponsor ID in the URL. If there is, the script will then grab that sponsor ID for the session, and set a cookie (for 10 years) with that ID. If a cookie already exists, it gets overwritten. This way, the last affiliate to refer the site always makes the sale.

If no ID is found in the URL, the script then checks for an existing cookie to find the sponsor ID data. This can be very helpful for your affiliates, as it still tries to find the last affiliate who referred the site.

If no cookie is found, the script then defaults the sponsor ID to "admin", like so: http://www.yourdomain.com/?id=admin

If you prefer, the script can default users to an account called NULL, with no payment links. We provide instructions on how to do this. This is how we run it on Automatic Money Machine. This method offers more affiliate protection.

If the username in the referring link was deleted for spamming (or any other reason), or if the user simply does not exist, the script defaults to an error page.
 

In depth information on how the script works with cookies:

If there is no cookie and no referrer, uses NULL (or admin) as referrer
If there is a cookie and referrer, it overwrites the cookie and uses the new referrer
If there is no cookie and a referrer, it sets a cookie and uses the current referrer
If the referrer is not in database i.e. not a member/valid id, it displays an error page

It sets a ‘real’ cookie which logs the affiliate referral. If users then come back to the site without a referral link, this cookie data is read, and put into session cookies to credit the referring affiliate with the sale.

Session cookies/variables only last until browser is closed. The ‘real’ cookie lasts for 10 years.

Every member that signs up goes through a unique process.

1. Member goes to index page, or any page, using ?id=sponsorname in the URL, (or possibly a subdomain).
2. The site cookie locates this sponsor's details, and displays their name on the site.
3. Member joins for free, and is tagged directly to their sponsor. The admin, new member, and upline are all emailed notifications instantly, that this member joined for free.

4. Member logs in to make payment(s) After all required payments are made, member is given access to paid members area, and is allowed to earn in the program. The admin, new member, and upline are all emailed notifications instantly, that this member has now paid.

Members are notified of direct and indirect (powerline) sales by email as they happen. This feauture emails the sponsor, the name and email of the powerline sale, as well as the name and email of the person who made the direct sale.

If no sponsor ID is found, the script chooses NULL as the sponsor, and no payment info is shown - OR script defaults to admin account and payment links. You can decide which way it should run.

A: If he/she only has one payment option listed in their profile, only that one payment option will be shown on the site.

Q: What about FREE memberships? Will they make qualifying sales?

A: No. FREE members (unless they upgrade to paid status), will simply "pass up" all sales to infinity. You may choose to allow free members or not.

A: Allowing free members is a great lead generator. It gives people a chance to see your members area, and get on your members mailing list. This way, you have an instant opt in list, you can warm up over time. You can mass email your members anytime.

A: Yes, you may personalize your member's emails with their first and last names, username in the affiliate links, and even their payment details listed in their profiles may be inserted into their emails. All these fields are performed with custom tags, which may even be used in the subject line of your email.

A: No. We have a special code you may use, at the top of each download page, that will only allow access to paid members. Unpaid members trying to access the download, will get redirected to the payment page. 

A: Yes, it is.

A: Yes, you can easily change the number of qualifiers that are passed up, when the program is set up. We will gladly do this for you, and assist you with any help you may need in creating your program's compensation plan.

A: Yes.

A: You get what you pay for. CGI scripts are very taxing on your server, and I've yet to find anyone who has been able to successfully set up the cgi x-up script, which only runs 20 levels deep. Where's the support? Our powerlines go infinitely wide AND deep. This is state of the art PHP, which means it's Very Fast and Easy on your server!

I have spent ten's of thousands of dollars in the development of this script. You won't find it anywhere else. Unlike a lot of cheap scripts out there, this one has been carefully upgraded again and again over time, to perform with great ease of use for the administrator, as well as the members.

Most programmers never administer programs with the scripts they create, so often times things are left to chance, or are just plain USER UN-FRIENDLY. And support is usually nonexistent.

A: Absolutely! We use AQhost. They are an excellent and very reasonably priced web hosting service provider. Their support and uptime is second to none. Support is limited to email, so if that's a problem you may need a more expensive host. Here is their site: AQhost

A: Absolutely. I run AutomaticMoneyMachine.com, and I don't know the first thing about managing servers. My web host manages our dedicated server. You can start out on a shared server, and move to a dedicated server when your traffic demands it.

A: If you can use a text editor, such as wordpad or notepad to edit files and follow our simple instructions to work with headers and footers (using our templates) you will learn how to integrate your html pages quickly. You can always use Frontpage (or ANY html editor) to do your meat and potatoes design, and then do simple edits in a text editor, to make it compatible for use with our script on your web site.

A: Only if you are using the tracking system (our script cookie) on that page, which credits your affiliates. You may elect to have some static html pages, for such purposes as listings your terms, or help files, etc.. These should be somewhat limited, like for use as pop up windows.
